The business life of a CEO is full of variety, and self-motivation is an ever-present challenge.
I’m currently reflecting on the marketing projects we have in process here at the office. One social media campaign is in progress and is going very well. We’re working on a rebranding marketing strategy with another client. Strategic partnership meetings have been scheduled, as well as some prospective client meetings. Strategic brainstorming is on the roster, with a few small bumps and several large wins.
All of this, and yet — some days I find it challenging to make it past my first cup of coffee.
A client sent me a text this morning from a meeting, questioning the purpose of her attendance. My advice to her was to listen as much as possible, to take notes, get council and be present despite her skepticism, and to be the best version of herself that she could be.
This text interchange was a reminder to both of us that there is always an opportunity in front of you. There is always a connection to be made, a lesson to learn, and a right step that can lead you to the next one, and even the next from there. Business development takes work. It takes motivation. And when motivation fails—it takes discipline.
So, what disciplines do you have in place for yourself?
Who is in your “favorites” list to text or call when you need a quick “get your butt in gear” type of pep talk? What activity gets your mind and body running on all cylinders? What resources do you have in place to make sure that those business tasks that may not be your forte don’t fall through the cracks?
Take some time today to think about what will take you to the next level. Is it time for rebranding? Or, do you just need to reach out to more potential clients?
Give your “motivational person” a call, punch your punching bag, or finish your coffee—and then make a move!
And, if Hint of Feisty can help, we will! Give us a call. Let’s be great together!
